On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Team Relay and the Triathlon Sprint competition will conclude in the European capital of sport: Caorle. The stage with the most participants in the Old Continent.
During the sunny morning, which brought light and warmth to everyone present, starting at 9:00 a.m., triathletes from different countries competed in the Team Relay, a relay race in three different legs, as required by the discipline: swimming (300m), cycling (6.2km), and running (1.5km).
Four competitors (two women and two men) from each participating team collaborated throughout the course, alternating—woman, man, woman, man—to reach the final stage, the finish line. Everyone gave their best, with some saying they were very satisfied, even exceeding their expectations, and others, instead, underestimating the technique, stamina, and power of their opponents.
Those who took home the winning results, climbing the podium steps, were Italy, Hungary, and Austria. Emiliano Tassinari (ITA) celebrated his first time in Caorle with a beautiful victory, describing his team as very united, an essential factor for achieving results, and added: “Italy came in first place and is where it should be!”. Furthermore, he considers Caorle’s title as European Capital of Sport to be of great importance for Italy as a whole. There was no shortage of positive comments regarding the course, “which is well suited to a European Cup, because it is technical and fast.” Second-place finisher Daniel Németh (HUN), who is competing in this competition for the second time, also expressed his opinion, describing the course as very technical and “dangerous.” He joked, having encountered some difficulties in the swim, considering himself a “not-so-good” swimmer, even though the results demonstrated his excellent skills. The third-place finisher was Austrian Jelle Kaindl (AUS).
Each of these young triathletes reached the finish line thanks to teamwork, as confirmed by Italian Tassinari, who thanked his team, composed of Chiara Guarisco, Sebastiano Margaria, and Nicole Fasano. Hungary’s team is made up of Laura Szobacsi, Zalan Trungel-Nagy, Petra Ban, and Daniel Németh. The team that led Austria to third place: Kathrin Ritter, Jan Gaberc, Bettina Ecker, and Jelle Kaindl.
At noon, the amateur categories set off, using all their strength to dive, pedal, and run in this experience, a Sprint distance (750m in the water, 20km by bike, and 5km on foot). In the afternoon, at 2:00 PM, the men in the amateur categories also competed in the Sprint distance, swimming, cycling, and running towards the finish line.
For the women’s amateur categories, first place went to Elisa Marcon (Cus Propatria Milano Triathlon), second place to Laura Ceddia (Valdigne Triathlon), and third place to Theresa Moser (RC Figaro Sparkasse Lienz – Austria). While the men’s category was won, in order, by: Csongor Lehmann (K3 Cremona), Gergely Kiss (K3 Cremona), and Romano Simeone (Cuneo1198 Triteam).
For everyone else, there was a pasta party to welcome them like champions, with Venetian cuisine adapted to meet every type of dietary requirement.
